A better spot, IMHO, is the primitive trail on the other side of the river. The trailhead is on a very small dirt
parking lot just before the flooded fields and the bridge crossing Johns River. The trail takes you through wetlands,
along the river, and if you take it far enough through old growth hemlock. From the parking lot described below return
to Hwy 105, turn right. Go past the field (lake right now) and Ocean Spray plant. Just past the first trees there's a
small rd on the right. The parking lot is about 100 feet down the road.

Hey tweets, I've had a request for direx to Johns River wildlife refuge, so
here goes. Go to Aberdeen. Head southwest on Hwy. 105 toward Westport.
Roughly 10 or 12 miles along, you will cross the John River bridge. The
parking area is visible from the bridge on the southwest bank of the river.
Look for a sign for the turnoff, but it's the first left after the bridge.
