Mark Houston was showing Marv Breece and me (Ken Knittle) the back roads of northwest Spokane Co. Sunday morning. We found 2 flocks
of Redpolls. The first one was north of Hwy. 2 about 5 miles on the Coulee Hite Rd. with about 150 birds in it and to our surprise
3 Gray-crowned Rosy-Finches. The whole flock including the Rosy-Finches would fly up into willows, a first time seeing Rosy-Finches
sitting on limbs. The second flock due south of Hwy. 2 had about 50 birds in it.

The bottom line is the rarity of Rosy-Finches in Spokane Co. and their association with Redpolls and flying and landing on branches.
Any comments would be welcomed.
