Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This
report was made Wednesday January 9. If you have anything to add call

The female ORCHARD ORIOLE first seen December 15 coming to a feeder along
Oceanview Drive south of Brookings was joined during the week by a male
ORCHARD ORIOLE. Reports indicate that a third ORCHARD ORIOLE and three
BULLOCK'S ORIOLES are in now in the Brookings area.

The YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKER at Bay City has been relocated coming to a
suet feeder about three blocks from where it was first seen.

A VESPER SPARROW was at Bullards Beach State Park near Bandon January 3.
The next day a CLAY-COLORED SPARROW was in Bandon. Four EMPEROR GEESE and
four LONG-TAILED DUCKS are now in the Empire section of Coos Bay. Three
ROCK SANDPIPERS are at Cape Arago and five were at Seal Rock State Park
January 5. The YELLOW-BREASTED CHAT continues to be seen in Florence. On
January 5, eight BARN SWALLOWS and one TREE SWALLOW were along the South
Jetty of Yaquina Bay.

The very large gathering of scoters at the cove area of Seaside are still
being seen. On January 8, 29 HARLEQUIN DUCKS were with them. The
BULLOCK'S ORIOLE is still coming to a Seaside feeder. A flock of 42 SNOW
BUNTINGS was on Clatsop Beach north of the Sunset Beach Access January 8.
The SNOWY OWL at the South Jetty of the Columbia River continues to be
seen.

On January 7, 13 NIGHT-HERONS were at the North Portland roost. The adult
male COSTA'S HUMMINGBIRD continues to be seen in Beaverton. An immature
COSTA'S has recently been reported from sw. Portland. Up to 60
CANVASBACKS, a REDHEAD, and a BONAPARTE'S GULL are now at the Fernhill
Wetlands. Another 44 CANVASBACKS are near Albany.

An active GYRFALCON is now being seen near Perrydale and at Baskett
Slough NWR. The Livermore Road TREE SPARROWS are still being seen. Three
BARN SWALLOWS were along Livermore Road January 6, and another was west
of Shedd January 3. A female BARROW'S GOLDENEYE is now on the Willamina
Sewage Ponds. The PACIFIC GOLDEN-PLOVER continues to be seen west of
Tangent.

On January 1 a flock of 25 GREATER YELLOWLEGS in west Eugene contained
two LESSER YELLOWLEGS. A ROSS'S GOOSE and the five TURKEY VULTURES are
still being seen around Fern Ridge Reservoir. On January 6 three EURASIAN
GREEN-WINGED TEAL were on the Creswell Sewage Ponds.
