The Two Rivers Wildlife area is now called the Crescent Lake Wildlife Area,
but both names are currently used. To get there from Monroe, head south on
Hwy. 203 (going toward Duvall). Turn right on 203rd Street SE, then left on
Tualco Road, which turns into Crescent Lake Road. You go down a bit and
there will be a parking lot on the right that you can pull into. Crescent
Lake Road eventually runs into High Bridge Road. You've gone too far if you
hit High Bridge Road. You can also approach this Wildlife Area from the
southwest by Woodinville-Duvall Road, heading west out of Woodinville,
before you get to Duvall. When you get to the Snoqualmie Valley, turn north
(left) on West Snoqualmie Valley Road NE and head north until it goes into
High Bridge Road. Then turn right (east) on Crescent Lake Road and look for
the parking lot on the north side of the road. I used to live in
Woodinville and ride my bike there during the summer.
The Crescent Lake Wildlife Area consists of 360 acres of land in Snohomish
County three miles south of Monroe just west of SR 203. The area is in the
floodplain of the Snoqualmie River.
About 110 acres are currently sharecropped, with a proportion of the crops
left standing in the field for wildlife. Crescent Lake is a small lake with
surrounding forested and unforested wetlands. Upland forest and shrublands
also occur on the area. Waterfowl, songbirds and small mammals frequent the
uplands and wetlands.
The primary use of the area is for hunting pen-reared pheasants. Other major
uses include waterfowl hunting, fishing, dog training, and nature
observation. The wooded area has a number of interconnected trails which are
well-used by nature observers and hikers. The unit has two parking lots for
visitors.
