Subject: Chilean fire bush for Hummers?

Hi ho tweeterinos
Theres a shrub down at the locks that is still blooming and attracting
hummingbirds, one of the gardeners said it was a Red Chilean fire bush
(Embothrium coccineum I think) He said it blooms all year. The blooms are
small and tubular, one inch long, red to orange growing in clusters. Does
anyone have any experience with this in the home garden? I'm sure its not a
native plant, but if it attracts hummingbirds it can't be all bad. No
mention in the Sunset Western Garden Book.
