An experienced birder friend said that anyone going to Costa Rica "MUST visit La Selva Biological Station, Puerto Viejo de Sarapiqui. reservas at cro.ots.ac.cr I cannot overemphasize this. You MUST visit La Selva! You can stay there for about $50...includes three meals a day. Fantastic birding! If you happen to travel to La Selva via the Guapiles Highway look for the Aerial Tram. It's a great diversion--a 90 minute aerial trip through the rain forest canopy. It's definitely worth a stop, but not at the expense of any of your time at La Selva. ?Pura Vida! and Happy Trails."
