Just returned from trip to Twisp for YTDW. It was seen on the 8th at
4:00pm and the 9th at 7:45am. Thanks to Dave for his hospitality. There
still are 7 pine grosbeaks at 6th & Madison in S. Cle Elum. Not
much else in Cle Elum. Near the Swauk cemetery at Ley and E. Ballard
hill rds. about 150 C. redpolls remain. Feeding in field nw of the
intersection. An imm. gos just n. of the southern terminus of gold ck.
loop on 153 to Twisp. 12 turkeys on Lookout Mtn. rd. near barn on L.
located just beyond house in trees on rt. side of the road. Redpolls
at d.d. feeder and a feeder near post office in Winthrop. Winthrop
rather quiet except for huge fem. imm. gos 1/2 mi up rd. to Perrygin Lk.
West side of rd. on power poles. No gros. at Walters rd. orchard. 1
n. shrike along east side rd. back to twisp. About 1/2 mile up the
Twisp-Carlton rd. in lg. apple orchard about 150 B. waxwings feeding on
apples about 20 rows into the orchard from t-c. rd. Looked for the Hawk
Owl up Texas ck. rd.-no luck.
