Columbia Estuary Report - 01/13/2002

The SNOWY OWL was in the usual spot at the NW edge of Trestle
Bay, Fort Stevens this morning.

One, possibly two, PALM WARBLERS were at King Avenue this morning.
Also seen there were an AMERICAN BITTERN and a ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK.
and blotchy leucistic FOX SPARROW (also reported last December)
had the group of us going for awhile.

There were at least 7 THAYER'S GULLS at Hammond Boat Basin.
A KUMLIEN'S GULL was on the basin jetty along with about 100
DUNLIN, 3 SURFBIRDS and 2 BLACK TURNSTONES.
