We birded for a week in Thailand last year: The best book I found is Birds
of Thailand by Lekagul & Pound (1994 ed. I think). Craig Robson's SE Asia
bird guide is even more recent & excellent, but has no species distribution
maps. Both are at Flora & Fauna Books or the UW bookstore in Seattle, or at
amazon.com.

Incidentally, I've found it wise when in foreign countries like this to look
for a chance, e.g., in Bangkok, to visit a good local book store because
there are nearly always some good books about almost everything, including
birds, that we'll never hear about in the U.S.
