Hi, People,

Figured it's about time for an update on our little friend. Despite some
much colder temps lately, he seems to be doing okay. It's gotten down to
zero or a little lower the last few nights. If anything, he's coming in
more often, and staying around longer. It's almost like he wants to guard
his food supply, although I still haven't seen any behavior I'd call
seriously aggressive. The cold weather has brought in much larger numbers
of Pine Siskins than I was getting, and they are much more aggressive than
the Warbler, or anything else, for that matter. I went from less than a
dozen at any one time to a flock that has to be at least 100. Who'd think
such little birds could have such large appetites? They are really going
through the feed. I'm still getting the other birds I've been seeing, even
had a mountain chickadee show up for the first time in a few weeks today.
Just not as many as before.

I'd like to say a quick thank you to all who have visited, and especially to
those that have contributed to the food supply. We appreciate it, and I
know the birds do.

One last thing. Although none have showed up here (yet), the report of
Western Bluebirds has been confirmed by several of you. Still seems early,
but then, who would have expected a YTW here this time of year? Guess
that's all for now.
