Hello Tweeters,
I am all upset that i lost one of my favored bird.As i come home i found one
of my male Varied Thrush laying on my patio. He proable flying in the window
to get away from one of the Merlin what been staying around our yard .But
than i wonder would the Merlin did not taking his prey?Or the other theory
is ,he trying to go on our suet feeder what's hanging under the eves.and he
missed. We been schwarmed with all kind of birds, all using the Suet. The
other day we had 16 Bushtits hanging on the little wooden perches eating
together with the Chickadees and the Bewick's Wren. For the last three days
we also had a Hutton's Vireo using the Suet.We using two cakes a day .Our
suet feeders having holes what we filling with our home made suet. Each hole
have a perch so even the Juncos can figure out how to sit on the perch. The
only bird what will not going on the Suet is our Anna's Hummigbird and the
Robin's.We having a lot more birds in our yard than years before, one thing
maybe a neighbors moved out and took all her many cats with them, the other
think that all the outside habitat what is closed to fircrest beeing
developed,so the birds have to go some place .Bringing up the matter on
tweeters seeing Brewers Blackbirds in parking lot's and malls was unheared
5 or so years, what appeared common now.
