Sightings for Saturday, January 19th

The WESTERN SCRUB JAY continues to be seen at its McDonald Place, Port
Coquitlam location between Rodger Avenue and Routley Avenue.

At Ladner Harbor Park was an ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER. An AMERICAN KESTREL
was
on Deltaport Way in Delta. Nearby, at Roberts Bank, there were 38 BRANT
while at Brunswick Point, there were 2 PEREGRINE FALCONS.

At the Point Roberts Marina was a MOUNTAIN BLUEBIRD.

There were 6 PIGEON GUILLEMOTS at Brockton Point, Stanley Park and there
was
a CRESTED MYNA at Columbia and 2nd in Vancouver.

Sightings for Friday, January 18th

A CRESTED MYNA was seen at 2nd and Wylie in Vancouver. An interesting
sighting from the mouth of Cypress Creek in North Vancouver was a hybrid
COMMON/BARROW'S GOLDENEYE.

In late reports for January 17th, there were COMMON REDPOLLS in various
locations including Oak and 58th, Heather and 70th and the south end of the
Iona causeway. Also on Sea Island was a GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GOOSE on
Ferguson Road. There was a GYRFALCON at the foot of 64th, Boundary Bay and
at Noons Creek Hatchery in Port Moody, there were 3 AMERICAN DIPPERS and a
HUTTON'S VIREO.

Sightings for Thursday, January 17th

There were no reported sightings.

A late report for January 16th includes 40 COMMON REDPOLLS at Maplewood
Conservation Area in North Vancouver

Sightings for Wednesday, January 16th

The WESTERN SCRUB JAY continues to be seen at its McDonald Place, Port
Coquitlam location between Rodger Avenue and Routley Avenue.

At Reifel today were 2 AMERICAN BITTERNS, 2 NORTHERN WATERTHRUSHES, a
HERMIT
THRUSH and in a nearby field, 10 GREATER YELLOWLEGS.

At Roberts Bank were 7 WESTERN SANDPIPERS while at the Tsawwassen Jetty
were
a WILLET and 4 BLACK OYSTERCATCHERS. The AMERICAN KESTREL was again seen at
41B and Deltaport Way.

A MERLIN was at the foot of 72nd, Boundary Bay, while a GYRFALCON and a
PEREGRINE FALCON were at the foot of 64th.

A WESTERN GULL was seen from the White Rock Pier and a MARBLED GODWIT was
in
the harbor at Blaine, Washington.

Sightings for Tuesday, January 15th

In Everett Crowley Park in Vancouver, a HOARY REDPOLL was located. The area
is found by entering a parking lot on Kerr Street and following the main
trail until there is a fork. Go to the right and follow this trail until you
see a large dirt mound covered in broom on your left. At the next fork, take
a left. Follow this main trail east or straight. Continue past the trail
repairs and you will reach an open area with more broom. The bird was with
23 COMMON REDPOLLS in Alders. Also in this area were a WHITE-THROATED
SPARROW and an ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER.

The WESTERN SCRUB-JAY was seen again today. It should be noted that the
bird
has also been seen from the 1900 block of Routley Avenue. Once again, please
avoid trespassing.

At Reifel Bird Sanctuary were 2 NORTHERN WATERTHRUSHES and 1 ORANGE-CROWNED
WARBLER.

A WHITE-WINGED CROSSBILL was seen in the 900 block of W 58th in Vancouver.

In Richmond, at the west end of Blundell, were 2 HERMIT THRUSHES and a
HUTTON'S VIREO. The 2 BARN SWALLOWS were again at the south end of the Iona
causeway.

Off the White Rock pier, 205 PACIFIC LOONS were observed.
