Just as I crossed the old Youngs Bay Bridge heading toward
Wireless Rd, I saw a large gray raptor low over the water.
By the time I could pull over and glass it, it was flying
along the bay dike heading toward the Lewis and Clark River.
I was able to watch it long enough to see that it was a
gray phase GYRFALCON (a big one, too, probably female).

As raptor days go, I did pretty well considering I was just
going out to check the gull flock at Hammond....

Bald Eagle
Northern Harrier
Cooper's Hawk
Rough-legged Hawk
Red-tailed Hawk
GYRFALCON
Peregrine Falcon
Snowy Owl (usual SJCR spot)
