Tweets,
Since we are talking about midwinter barn swallow movements, I thought I'd add this to the discussion. I have a reliable second hand report of a Barn Swallow from the Yakima Canyon, not sure on the date, but fairly sure it was in the last week.
This is the first midwinter eastern washington record I have heard of for this winter and the majority of midwinter sightings seem to favor western washingtion. Due to climate, this is of course logical. However, my question is if people have midwinter records for barn swallow in eastern washington, or thoughts on how often they might occur.
As a side note on a sighting, I had a northern pygmy- owl in the upper area of manastash road this morning.

Thanks and good birding.
