Hello, Tweeters.

This is my first posting. I arrived in WA a week ago from south central
Arizona and was thrilled the first day in my new abode to see a
Chestnut-backed Chickadee in the back yard - my first lifer for the state..
This morning (in the rain) I went to Muckilteo State Park and was very happy
when a small flock (15 - male, female and juvenile) of Barrow's Goldeneye
(another lifer for me) came very near the shore. I expect they are common
here in winter, yes? Also present were a few Common Goldeneyes and
Red-breasted Mergansers. One I couldn't quite identify looked much like a
juvenile Harlequin Duck. Would this be likely for the area? It hung around
the Common Goldeneye.
