Tweets,
With it being fairly calm today along the columbia, I decided to head down along the Kittitas side and see what birds I could find. At the Ginko overlook I had 4 grebe species, 1 EARED GREBE and 1 WESTERN GREBE in among the usual pied-billed and horned grebes.
At the vantage boat launch there was one PACIFIC LOON and 3 LONG-TAILED DUCK among the large flock of coots, wigeon and goldeneye. These Long-tailed Duck are probably the same birds as have been in the area for several weeks.
Though not a bird siting, just south of Wanapum Dam I encountered a large cloud of insects (either gnats or mosquitos), so insects are clearly comming out; maybe it will be an early spring...

Good birding all.
