Today at Foster Island the flock of Redpolls that has been reported for
the last few weeks was again seen. As reported by Ted Kenefick
yesterday, there is one bird in the flock of about 125-150 that
immediately stands out. The bird is almost pure white on its belly with
faint pink on it's breast. The streaking on the flanks is just about
nonexistant. Without a scope it was hard to ascertain comparable
features of the head and bill and whether the rump was streaked. These
birds were pretty active. I spoke with Ted this evening and it seems
that this was the same bird he had noted the day before. This may be
worth checking out for those of you who still checking Redpolls.
