I pulled up swallow data (Barn and Tree combined) for 1980 to
1999, and the rain trend holds. More swallows are reported
in wet years.

The data falls just short of 95% confidence, but this could be an
artifact of the method used to adjust for effort.

And no, this does not in anyway way attempt to explain the well
documented and still mysterious phenomenon of mirror-migration,
though it may play a part in the ability for these lost individuals
surviving to be noticed....
