January 16, 2002, Wednesday, 11:15 p.m. Hi, this is Sam Terry at (206)
329-9038. Today I had the PRAIRIE FALCON on Dike Access Road near Woodland
in Cowlitz County, and the BLACK PHOEBE was present in the afternoon at the
headquarters of Julia Butler Hansen National Wildlife Refuge in Wahkiakum
County. That's it. Good luck and good birding.

January 18, 2002, Friday, 11:14 a.m. Hello, this is Hugh Jennings at (425)
746-6351, and this morning at 10:00 o'clock in the Lake Hills Greenbelt in
East Bellevue I saw 4 COMMON REDPOLLS in with a flock of about 4 PINE
SISKINS and some HOUSE FINCHES. This is at the northeast corner of the
greenbelt, which is the entrance that comes off of S.E. 4th Street. They
were in a birch tree right at the entrance there. You can park your car
right there. And I just got a report from Joyce Meyer at 11:00 o'clock and
she raced down there and they were still there at 11:00 o'clock. Thank you.

January 18, 2002, Friday, 8:01 p.m. Hi, this is Steven Mlodinow. Today Ted
Peterson, Dennis Duffy and I birded from Bay Center to Westport. We had an
EMPEROR GOOSE near Bruceport, between South Bend and Bay Center. The
EMPEROR GOOSE was in the fields west of Highway 101 just south of milepost
51. There were several hundred CANADAS, about 10 WHITE-FRONTED GEESE and
the 1 EMPEROR. Also proceeding towards Bay Center we had a LESSER
YELLOWLEGS in some of the mudflats, they become evident on the right side of
the road, the west side of the road. Down at Bay Center itself we had a
CLARK'S GREBE. At Tokeland we had the BAR-TAILED GODWIT and there were a
number of SNOWY PLOVERS at Midway Beach. That's it. Good luck and good
birding.

January 19, 2002, Saturday, 2:52 p.m. Hi, this Martha Taylor (206)
523-4677. I would like to report 4 BARN SWALLOWS at Magnusson Park today
and also a LINCOLN'S SPARROW. That's it. Good luck and good birding.

January 19, 2002, Saturday, 9:02 p.m. Hi, this is Steven Mlodinow. Today
Dennis Duffy, Ted Peterson and I birded from Lebam, in Pacific County,
through the Julia Butler Hansen area in Wahkiakum and then over to Longview
and Toledo. The highlights included, but mostly actually at Deep River
where it crosses, I think it's Highway 4 in western Wahkiakum County. Along
east Deep River Road we had a SWAMP SPARROW and a WHITE-TAILED KITE and 10
BARN SWALLOWS. The BLACK PHOEBE was still at Julia Butler Hansen National
Wildlife Refuge behind the headquarter building, and at Puget Island near
Cathlamet, we had 2 WHITE-TAILED KITES and then we had 2 more WHITE-TAILED
KITES near the Toledo airport as well as a group of about 80 MOURNING DOVES.
That's it. Good luck and good birding.

January 20, 2002, Sunday, 5:35 p.m. Hi, this is Greg Toffic. Today at the
Snohomish Water Treatment Plant there was a male REDHEAD. Good birding.

January 21, 2002, Monday, 5:55 p.m. Hi, this is Greg Toffic. Today was a
five falcon day. My wife, Sally, and I saw the gray GYRFALCON southwest of
Snohomish this morning. This is along the Marsh Road on a telephone pole,
and then this afternoon we had a PRAIRIE FALCON at the Bayview-Edison "T."
Very nice considering that we really weren't planning on birding today. So,
good luck and good birding.
