I have a Handspring Visor and would never take it birding. While they're
convenient for business purposes, they're also expensive to fix. For me,
the benefits of having a digital list of birds are far outweighed by the
$100 price tag to fix a shattered screen (which happened to my brother
recently after his was brushed off the kitchen table). In contrast, paper
notebooks work in the rain, do not run out of batteries, and cost a buck to
replace, even if the whole thing is dropped down a ravine.

Tweeters,

Public responses to the attached inquiry would be appreciated by more folk
than just the original inquirer.

The worst government is the most moral. One composed of cynics is
often very tolerant and human.
But when fanatics are on top there is no limit to oppression.
