Hello Tweeters,
Due to the wether ,we stayed home today, not taken any chances to get by
other cars. The weather reported having so many accidents and cars ending in
the ditch.
We been sitting here since 7.15AM glued to the window, looking who is the
first bird. The Hummingbirds are usual the first in the past, but today me
staying home , i see two lttle brown birds tail straight up, with a strong
eyeline. Our two Bewick's Wren came together a breeding pair what been around
for many years.I have this beautiful little Noble Fir What been used by this
birds, and in the past i kept two Townsend's for three months in our yard, but
this year sofar non of this birds showing yet.
One year there nested in the special smal birdhouse hand made this for birds
as the wren. But hanging this Birdhouse in to a tree was a mistake.I klooked
every day at this birdhouse from my bedroom window ,seeing this two birds
making the nest, than later feeding the young. But one time i saw our
neighbors cat been climbing the tree ,and moving the birdhouse
lightly.Nothing happen, the Wren suceed in raising there young finnish, but
there never used this house again.
Today is a verry rewarding morning staying home. After the Wren the Male and
female came together for the first time and tolerate each other ok.It's
maybe time to pair up for breeding of this birds, because there never came
togethe all winter, the immature male chase every on of,even the full
adult, this is one one agressive Hummigbird.
We increasd our increased our suet feeder to fife ,three under the eves
where we can watch verry close and two in our yard.We having all the birds
using thr suet and even with fife feeders there all occupied. Our newest bird
the "Hutton's Vireo" already came early at 10.10AM this morning. We been
taking photos of this bird on the Suet, but he will stay only few seconds
than back in to the bush, repeat this three times and than flying of.This
bird came on the on the 15th of January,so he maybe staying around for the
good suet. Also yesterday we had again 18 Bustits all on the suet
feeders. Here is the list we had this morning:

The Bushtits are comming only in the afternoon.

I like to revise my Suet recipe this holds 21 cakes put in the smal tuna
container
Alot of people think it is to much work to make this suet, but the results to
attract this many birdsis all worth the effort
2 Morrel Snow Cap Lard LB ( lightly melted)
1 cup Peanut butter
3 cup of Corn Meal
3 cup of Oats (quick
8 cups of Planters Peanuts (unsalted finly grinded in Oskar)
Fill Tuna cans, put in freezer to get hard.
When needed take containers out lighly defrost use a smal knife to get out
and form in cakes. You can put back in freezer to harden again.
