Finally I have seen a midwinter BARN SWALLOW. It was flying over the
Elwha River estuary today and observed by four of us at the tailend of an
Olympic Peninsula Audubon Society field trip.
We had also sighted a pale HORNED LARK on Ediz Hook earlier -- a first
for me at that location. Probably the same individual was sighted by Bruce
Moorhead some time earlier.
