Hello Tweeters,
Thank you for all replys about our yardbird .Most all ask,you forgot to
mention House Sparrows ,and dont you have Pin Siskin?No one would believe
but we dont have any House Sparrow.I get a pair in the spring,trying to get
in to the nest boxes where there can fit in.You would not believe the effort
to encourage this two bird ,throwing smal rocks at them,over and over,pretty
soon there going away.No House Sparrow ever neste here in my yard.I dont
know if some birder read my story about the House Sparrow what got stock in
the Swallow house.When i came home one day,i see this bird stuck halve way
in the hole,cause he twas dead.I had to climb the high ladder to remove the
body.It was the female and the male went on.
Queston two abou the Pin Siskin.Yes we have Pin Siskin but not right now
there come some time,right now we have non.The birds i reported yesterday
was what we have that day,but this can vary.Today our first bird appeard at
8.30, on other days we had the already at 7.50 AM.The Anna's feed and go
right in the bush what is a laurel ,close to the feeder.Other times he will
perching right next to the feeder to feed for many times.
Queston three:Are you only feeding Suet? We having 4 tub feeders hanging
from trees, all have Squirl gards putting straight Sunflower Seeds in all
the feeders ,we buying ours at a feed store what is good quality.The ground
bird as the Juncos have Millet and we also having a smal window feeder what
holds crushed Peanut what is for the Nuthatches.It is amazing ,but we dont
have to many birds yet.The Hutton's Vireo came one time on the suet and went
on.We put our big stand feeder out, we figure since the birds have all the
snow there can sit under the roof and feed,but no bird been on this feeder
yet.It must get warmer,because ou water dripper for the bird baths are
dripping.We have a lot of snow here in Fircrest and it looks like a wonder
wonder land.O yes i forgot ,we having lot's of bushes with berrys including
the Yu Trees but we also putting out old apples for the thrushes..
