Yesterday and today (Jan 26 & 27) I birded Grays Harbor and Pacific
Counties. Here are some highlights.

1/26 at Ocean Shores
Pacific Loon - on the lake behind the concrete water tower
Semi-palmated Plover - 3 at the base of Damon Point
Red-throated Loon - Damon Point
Rough-legged Hawk - Damon Point
Peregrine Falcon - 1 adult flying over Bill's Spit

Sat, 1/26 at Johns River
Hermit Thrush
Varied Thrush
Townsend's Warbler-3
Greater Yellowlegs-8
Northern Shrike
Yellow-rumped Warbler
Virginia Rail
Barn Swallow-1 (also seen on 1/27)
Elk - 12 near the parking lot south of Johns River

1/26 at Westport Jetty
Merlin - fly by at the base of the jetty
Black Turnstone
Surfbird

1/27 at Tokeland
Marbled Godwit - over 400
Bar-tailed Godwit -1
Willet - 7
Long-billed Curlew - 7
Whimbrel - 3
Western Sandpiper
Dunlin - 43
Black-bellied Plover - 8
Long-billed Dowitcher - 26
Merlin - perched in a tree on Fisher Ave.

1/27 at Midway Beach
Snowy Plover - 24 actively feeding at the end of Midway Beach Rd
Peregrine Falcon - 1 adult perched on beach driftwood
Dunlin - too many to count

1/27 at Brady Loop, east end (west end under water & closed)
Scrub Jay - 3
Lincoln's Sparrow - 1

It was a good week end, even though the weather was terrible.
