Subject: Upcoming Book Store Events!

To Faculty and Students:

There are two upcoming events that may be of particular interest to you.
The first is Edward O. Wilson with his book, Future of Life. From one of
the world's most influential scientists and two-time Pulitzer Prize-winning
author comes his most timely and important book yet. The Future of Life is
both an up-to-date depiction of our biosphere and an invaluable guidebook
for the protection of all species--including humankind. This event will
take place on Tuesday, February 12th at 7:00 PM in Town Hall, 1119 Eighth
Ave., Seattle. Tickets are required for this event.

Next, Cindy Engel will be coming with her book, Wild Health: How Animals
Keep Themselves Well and What We Can Learn From Them. The plants and foods
animals seek out often have proven medicinal or nutritional properties--and
this has enormous implications for the advance of human medicine. Wild
Health is the first book on the fascinating field in
biology--zoopharmacognosy or animal self-medication--and its lessons for
humans. This event will take place on Thursday, February 14th at 7:00 PM in
Kane Hall, Walker Ames Rm. Tickets are required for this event.

Free tickets can be obtained at any branch of UBS. Call 634-3400 and ask
for General Books for ticket info or to reserve tickets.

We hope to see you there!

Sincerely,
Maurine Tritch
