Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This
report was made Thursday January 31. If you have anything to add call

The BRAMBLING at Foley Road and Lone Pine Road north of Burns is still
being seen. The Bay City YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKER continues. The ORCHARD
ORIOLES at the corner of Oceanview Drive and Gregory Lane near Brookings
are still there. On January 24 a BLACK-THROATED SPARROW was seen about a
half mile south of the orioles.

The AVOCET and BARROW'S GOLDENEYE are still at Coos Bay, and the HARRIS'S
SPARROW continues at Millicoma Marsh. On January 25 a GLAUCOUS GULL was
in Florence. The wintering CHAT in Florence continues to be seen. A flock
of 15 ROCK SANDPIPERS was on the North Jetty of Yaquina Bay January 29.
The SNOW BUNTING and two LONG-TAILED DUCKS are along the South Jetty.

The MOCKINGBIRD is still coming to the apple tree at 1412 2d street in
Tillamook. A flock of WESTERN BLUEBIRDS was in Seaside January 26. The
SNOWY OWL is still at the South Jetty of the Columbia River, and the
RED-SHOULDERED HAWK continues at the Astoria Airport Mitigation Bank.

Close to 1000 SNOW GEESE, 125 SANDHILL CRANES, and the HARRIS'S SPARROW
are now at Walton Beach on the east side of Sauvie Island.

A BARN SWALLOW and two REDHEADS are at Smith/Bybee Lakes in North
Portland. Two MONK PARAKEETS were at their nest at the Alderwood Road
Airport Maintenance Building Janaury 29. During the week 23 WESTERN
GREBES, a RED-NECKED GREBE, 4 HORNED GREBES, a COMMON LOON, a
RED-THROATED LOON, and a GLAUCOUS GULL were on the Columbia River near
the 33d Avenue Boat Ramp along Marine Drive near the airport.

The Beaverton COSTA'S HUMMINGBIRD is still being seen. A GLAUCOUS GULL
was at the Fernhill Wetlands January 25. The LONG-TAILED DUCK continues
to be seen on McGilchrist Pond in Salem. The GRYFALCON is still west of
Perrydale. The BURROWING OWL along Smithfield Road, and the SHORT-EARED
OWLS along Farmer Road are still in place. Five BARN SWALLOWS were at
Ankeny NWR January 26.

The wintering NASHVILLE WARBLER in Eugene is still being seen. Up to
seven TURKEY VULTURES are still at Fern Ridge Reservoir. A flock of 107
BLACK-BELLIED PLOVERS, 8 GREATER SCAUP, a ROSS'S GOOSE, and a BRANT are
also in the area.

A GREAT GRAY OWL was at Sunriver, south of Bend January 27. A flock of 50
TRICOLORED BLACKBIRDS are along Crooked River Road south of Prineville
and several are at the I84 colony near Stanfield.
