This evening I checked on the pond next to North Seattle Community College.
There were two pied billed grebe chicks (and maybe a third) with their
wonderful black/white/orange striped heads and fuzzy bodies. At one point an
adult grebe was feeding a chick.

There was also a pair of wood ducks with a number of young chicks. And a few
cedar waxwings.

In addition, there was evidence of recent activity by the beaver there, but I
didn't see the beaver. Have been enjoying beavers at Meadowbrook Pond - as
have all the kids in that neighborhood. And in recent weeks I have seen
muskrats at Golden Gardens and Waterworks Park.

Happy summer!
