This afternoon I walked around the Nisqually mainly to check the NW
corner of the refuge for shorebird activity. I was not disappointed with
my findings. Small flocks of peeps (mainly Westerns) were flying all
over the place. I scanned the open muddy areas and came up with some
good birds.

Spotted Sandpiper - 1
Common Snipe - 1
Western Sandpiper - 150+
Least Sandpiper - 6 (small group by themselves feeding in the mud at
close range)
Greater Yellowlegs - 3
Long Billed Dowitcher - 25+

I also had 1 Mourning Dove on the center trail.
