A few shorebirds have arrived at Jensen as of yesterday afternoon (July 4)
at the Jensen access to the Skagit WMA, including the first SEMIPALMATED
SANDPIPER of the season:

Killdeer 5
Black-bellied Plover 1
Lesser Yellowlegs 1
W. Sandpiper 200
Least Sandpiper 50
Semipalmated Sandpiper 1

Things were pretty quiet during a brief stop but there was also a BANK
SWALLOW perched with other swallows on some driftwood eastward, an unusual
date for one. Last August there were record numbers here, one wonders if
perhaps they nest in the area.
