Our encounter this morning with the black bear in our yard is going national!
The story ran on the Seattle stations KIRO 7 & KING 5, affiliates of NBC &
CBS, then we got calls from CNN & NBC national (and the phone is still
ringing!) We've signed the releases giving permission for them to use my
husband's video of the bear.

KIRO 7 by far did the better story. KING 5 showed a minimal amount of the
footage. If you missed it, it should be repeated tonight on the late news,
and will apparently be shown on affiliates around the country over the
weekend. The great thing about the KIRO 7 story, is that they also showed
Steven's video of the red-winged blackbird at our feeder. This is the shot he
wanted to get, and so we canceled our day of running errands to stay home and
man the porch with cameras.
