Jim Pruske and I joined up with Brenda Johnson on a 8 mile round trip to
Kennedy Creek Falls. Unfortunately, Brenda was unable to complete the
trek, but Jim and I made it. We were treated to a splendid 30ft, 2 tier,
cascading waterfall tucked away in the cool forest. We had tallied 46
species of birds along the way including;

Western Tanager - many
Pacific Slope Flycatcher - many
Willow Flycather - several
Hammonds Flycatcher - 1
Cassin's Vireo - several
Warbling Vireo - several
Wilson's Warbler - many
Townsend Warbler - 1
Black Throated Gray Warbler - several
MacGillivray's Warbler - 1
Yellow Warbler - 1
Black Headed Grosbeak - several
Ruffed Grouse - 1
Pileated Woodpecker - 2
Northern Rough winged Swallow - 2
American Dipper - 1
Common Nighthawk - 2

Turkey Vulture - 1 (along Hwy 101 at the northern most part of Thurston
County)
