On Sat., July 6 one mile west of Coulee City in the ponds on the south
side of the highway(DeLorme p. 85, D 6 -- Lena Lake) we saw the
following: 27 Western Sandpipers, 5 Long-billed Curlew and 3 Long-billed
Dowitchers. There is an excellent pullout there where you can climb up on
the rocks and look at the water down below. Also saw a Caspian Tern,
Western Grebes, Spotted Sandpipers. Meredith Spencer
