Sightings for Tuesday, July 9

There were 6 COMMON NIGHTHAWKS observed at 8th & 3rd Ave in New
Westminster.

At Colony Farm there were 1 LAZULI BUNTING, 1 EASTERN KINGBIRD, 1
AMERICAN BITTERN, and a GREEN HERON.

On Grouse Mountain along the Grouse Grind 8 TOWNSEND'S WARBLERS,
1 HAMMOND'S FLYCATCHER & 10 HERMIT THRUSHES were seen.

At Ambleside Park in West Vancouver 1 immature GREEN HERON was
reported.

Monday, July 8

No sightings

Sunday, July 7

On the rising hightide at the Mansion at 96th Street was 1 adult
breeding plumaged RED KNOT with 70 BLACK-BELLIED PLOVERS. Also here were 2
Dowitchers of undetermined species, 100's of WESTERN SANDPIPERS and 1 adult
PEREGRINE FALCON. Nearby at the foot of 112th Street were 3 LESSER
YELLOWLEGS,
3 LONG-BILLED DOWITCHERS, 2000+ WESTERN SANDPIPERS with 30
SEMIPALMATED and 30 LEAST SANDPIPERS mixed in the group.

At Colony Farm 1 WESTERN KINGBIRD and 2 EASTERN KINGBIRDS were
reported.

In Katzie Marsh in Pitt Meadows a high number of 17 RING-NECKED DUCKS
were observed.

Saturday, July 6th

At the base of the Roberts Bank Coal Port Jetty at high tide were
5000+ WESTERN SANDPIPERS, 23 SEMIPALMATED SANDPIPERS &
13 LEAST SANDPIPERS. Nearby at the Compensation Lagoon near the
tip of the Tsawwassen Ferry Jetty were 2 WHIMBREL & 2 BLACK
OYSTERCATCHERS.

At Beach Grove Lagoon were 15 WESTERN SANDPIPERS, 3 LEAST SANDPIPERS
and 1 PEREGRINE FALCON.

Friday, July 5th

At the Tsawwassen Compensation Lagoon were 1 WHIMBREL and 1 baby
BLACK OYSTERCATCHER. Nearby at the base of the Roberts
Bank Coal Port Jetty were 2500 WESTERN SANDPIPERS,
100 LEAST SANDPIPERS and 50 BLACK-BELLIED
PLOVERS. Working the area was an adult PEREGRINE FALCON.

At Rocky Point Park in Port Coquitlum were 3 PURPLE MARTINS.
