Greetings,

The Collared-Dove was observed this evening at the site previously mentioned
at Wenatchee Confluence State Park. Several days ago[when I believe the
Collared-Dove first arrived] it would flee from the courting Ringed
Turtle-Dove just like the Mourning Doves there have been doing. But this
evening the Turtle-Dove mounted the Collared-Dove with no copulation. Here
are the directions if anyone cares to see these birds.

Directions: From US 2 at Wenatchee, eastbound or westbound,
follow signs to the State Park. Park in the first parking lot which will be
on the right. Walk the asphalt trail south, go over the bridge over the
Wenatchee River. Continue south on the asphalt path for about 1/4 mile to
the interpretive station titled "Confluence Wetlands". The doves were on
power lines about 200 feet south of here.

Other birds of interest at the state park this evening were a Black-crowned
Night-Heron, several hundred Bank Swallows and two young Ospreys can be seen
at the nest on the railroad bridge over the Wenatchee River. Juvenile
California and Ring-billed Gulls arrived this week at the park.

Birding is best in the morning or evening. Forecast for Friday at Wenatchee:
Sunny. Highs 100 to 105. Light wind.

Good birding,
