Early afternoon 7/13 I observed a DARK-EYED OREGON JUNCO feeding a
BROWN-HEADED COWBIRD on the ground beneath my bird feeders near Renton,
WA. The COWBIRD made an insistent, scratchy begging call as described
in Sibley. I called a birder friend to describe the strange sight, and
she said she had read about but not personally observed this behavior.
She suggested I post the sighting here and request your comments on
other sightings, additional information, etc.

I am a novice birder; I became interested in birds when growing up on
Midway Island surrounded by ALBATROSS (white and black-footed), BOSUN
BIRDS, FAIRY TERNS, and more.
