Hi Marlene,
I believe they have started their migration. My hummers dropped out of sight
suddenly and now I have a bird or two visiting the feeder but I think they
are migrants. The reason I believe this is that I have a seed feeder that
has red on it and every spring when the hummingbirds come back, they go over
and try to figure out where the nectar is. After some time, they figure it
out and pay no attention to it in favor of the regular hummingbird feeder. I
noticed this weekend, a hummingbird over at the seed feeder attempting to
find the food on it. My assumption is that it is not one of my regular
summertime residents. In addition, I haven't seen any of the territorial
behaviors in the past few weeks.
