I was ready to take my feeders down here in Ketchikan, but one lone
female appeared yesterday. Then it occurred to me -- our locals have
obviously left, but the ones from farther north may be coming through. I
know they follow the mountain flowers through Canada and the lower 48,
but the path might be more coastal here in S.E. Alaska. For one thing,
there's still quite a bit of snow at the higher elevations; at 4000 feet
I don't think it's all going to melt this year.

Had more youngsters than I've ever noticed before this year, and I miss
them! Can't say I miss brewing a quart of nectar a day, however.
