>From your brief description, the ducks sound like they could be male Mallards in eclipse plumage. And, there are a lot of those hanging around right now.

TheCanada Geese were gorgeous...25 at the North end of the main pond and 15
at the south end. They were bathing and preening and just hanging out. I saw

Lots of Robins, tons of crows, finches. A dozen killdeer. One beautiful calm
Great Blue Heron in First Pond...my name for the Pond near the dime lot. Less
RedWinged Black birds than I am used to. A couple of American Goldfinches.

I was sitting on Wedding Rock for a few minutes and saw some birds in the
grasses a little bigger than robins but dark. One would fly up out of the
grass just a few feet and hover. It seemed to have some grey or translucent
quality on the edges of the wings and tail. Maybe I was dreaming. Its a
dreamy spot there.

There was a huge hawk flying over the lake with long long wing fingers. I
wished one of you all were there to guide me.

I feel so lucky to have this place near me.
