The feature bird is LAZULI BUNTING

Sightings for Tuesday, July 30

At Colony Farm a family of LAZULI BUNTINGS were along Colony Farm
Road behind the Old Aboandoned houses.

Monday, July 29

At the Reifel Refuge the following species were reported: upto 5 RED-
NECKED PHALAROPES, 2 WILSON'S PHALAROPES, 300 LONG-BILLED DOWITCHERS, 70
GREATER YELLOWLEGS, 4 SEMIPALMATED SANDPIPERS, 4 PECTORAL SANDPIPERS and
many WESTERN SANDPIPERS.

Along the Tsawwassen Ferry Jetty were 3 BLACK OYSTERCATCHERS.

In Vancouver at 1st and Wylie were still 2 CRESTED MYNAS these are
possibly the only remaining birds left in our area.

Sunday, July 28

At the Tsawwassen Ferry Jetty Compensation Lagoon was the RUDDY
TURNSTONE and at the base on the South Side was the WILLET.

At the base of the Roberts Bank Coal Port Jetty were 1 WHIMBREL and
hundreds of peeps and plovers.

At Montrose Park in North Burnaby were a family of 3 MERLINS.

At the top of the Wreck Beach Trail at UBC were 2 juvenile BARRED
OWLS.

At Iona Island were 1 MERLIN and 1 PEREGRINE FALCON.

Saturday, July 27

At Iona Island along the fence separating the Inner and Outer Ponds
were 2 female BULLOCK'S ORIOLES.

Along the Tsawwassen Ferry Jetty were 6 BLACK OYSTERCATCHERS, 3
WHIMBREL and the WILLET.

At the Base of the Roberts Bank Coal Port Jetty the following species
were reported:
1 juvenile RED-NECKED PHALAROPE, 2 RED KNOT, 1 LONG-BILLED CURLEW,
2 BAIRD'S SANDPIPERS, 20 DUNLIN, 50 SEMIPALMATED PLOVER,
1 SEMIPALMATED SANDPIPER, 400 WESTERN SANDPIPER, 20 LEAST SANDPIPERS
and 6 BONAPARTE'S GULLS.

At the Reifel Refuge was a single TURKEY VULTURE.

Along the Boundary Bay foreshore was 1 AMERICAN KESTREL
