On May 22, Dennis Johnson had a HERMIT THRUSH at his Richland feeder.

Bob & Pat Woodley observed 2 returning EASTERN KINGBIRDS in Groves Park in
Richland on May 24. Also present were a pair of PACIFIC LOONS.

On May 25, Dennis Rockwell reported that the Washington Ornithological
Society's field trip found a SNOWY PLOVER among other shorebirds behind the
Iowa Beef facility off Dodd Road near Wallula.

BLACK-HEADED GROSBEAKS are back in usual numbers and have been reported by
many callers.

A YELLOW-BILLED CUCKOO was located in College Place by Roger Moyer (sp?).
It was across from the Lion's Park on May 31.

Dennis Johnson birded the roads along Barker Ranch in West Richland on June
2 and reported the following birds: GREAT EGRET, BLACK-CROWNED
NIGHT-HERON, BLUE-WINGED TEAL, LARK SPARROW, SAY'S PHOEBE, LAZULI BUNTING,
YELLOW WARBLER, AMERICAN AVOCET, COMMON SNIPE, and SWAINSON'S HAWK.

On June 7, Laurie Ness had a singing RED-EYED VIREO in her North Richland
yard.

Although far afield, Dan Barton of the Point Reyes Bird Observatory
reported a singing PHILADELPHIA VIREO along Crab Creek in Lincoln County.
