Sunday, 6/9/02, 7:00 pm Steven Mlodinow. First of all a follow-up on denny
Granstand's message, which is next. The WHITE WINGED DOVE was still present
around 3:15-3:30 this afternoon. It actually was absent most of the day but
returned at that time. Follow Denny's directions to Brick Mill road where
you turn right, the house is .2 miles east of Road #81 and it's the house
that's cream colored with a green roof. The bird tends to hang out in the
feeder that's in the back yard. The back yard is easily visible. From Brick
Mill road just after the house make a right turn; you can park off the road
pretty easily and look at the feeder in the back of the house. Also, the
LITTLE BLUE HERON in Ellensburg was present today. Take Canyon Road south
from Ellensburg to Ringer Road, that's 2-3 miles south of Ellensburg. Make
a right turn on Ringer Road and on youyr left you'll see a slough lined with
yellow iris, the bird was hanging out in that slough and perching on some of
the posts, an adult LITTLE BLUE HERON. Good luck and good birding.

Sunday, 6/9/02, 8:21 a.m. dDenny Granstand. It is 8:00 Sunday morning. I
am on Brick Mill road north of Kittitas which is east of Ellensburg. The
WHITE WINGED DOVE I reported on Tweeters last night is still here; I saw it
five minutes ago. From I-90 take the Kittitas exit, go north thru town, just
on the north end of the main drag turn right, and then another left on Road
81. Take Road 81 north 4 miles, it tees at Brick Mill Road. You turn right
on Brick Mill Road. Within just a couple hundred yards there's an old barn
on the north side of the road. Right now it's in the trees near the barn.
It is hanging out at the feeder at a house just east of the barn. The house
is on the south side of the road, has an arch over the gate with a weathered
set of elk antlers on it. The people ask that no one enter their yard. It
roosts in their trees on the east side of the yard occasionally. My phone

Sunday, 6/9/02, 6:40 a.m. This is Joyce Meyer, 425 881 5422. An adult
LITTLE BLUE HERON was seen sat 6/8 in eastern Washington during an East Lake
Washington Audubon field trip. It was at a pond at the back of the marsh on
the south end of Ringer Road, which is off of Canyon Road, DeLorme Page 5,
4A. There are many yellow-headed blackbirds at this marsh. Good bye and
good birding.

Saturday, 6/8/02, 6:49 pm. Steve Mlodinow. First of all today Bob Flores
and Randy Hill chased the Philadelphia vireo; that's the next message. They
were unable to find it but gave a nice description visually and vocally of
an Alder Flycatcher at the same location. Today Sam Terry, Dennis Duffy and
I birded around Rockport and Darrington. At the Martin Road site which is
just outside of Rockport we had a SINGING YELLOW BREASTED CHAT. On
Washington 20 just east of Concrete we had a LAZULI BUNTING and an EASTERN
KINGBIRD. We had 4 more LAZULI BUNTINGS at Martin Road. At Barnaby's
Slough near Rockport we had 2 BANK SWALLOWS, and near Ebie Slough near
Everett we had two WILSON'S SWALLOWS in a display flight. Take Holmaker's
Road just east of Ebie's Slough is the wet meadows on the north side of the
road.
