There's a sizeable article on the results of the Cornell lab's analysis in
this morning's New York Times.

Birdchatters,

I hate to be the bearer of bad tidings, especially these, but I
thought the word needed to be spread:

A followup story on National Public Radio's Morning Edition this
morning reported on Cornell Labs' analysis of the remote
microphones placed during the recent Ivory-billed search and on
the spectrographic analysis of the mysterious rapping sounds
recorded by two groups. Cornell Labs' director John Fitzpatrick
speaks on this story, reporting that, despite their best efforts to
make them something else, the team concluded the recorded
rapping sounds to be gunshots.

Fitzpatrick also reported that the analysis of the remote sensors
revealed many other calls, but nothing resembling Ivory-billed
noises.

(Sigh...)
