The "alder" flycatcher is still at the Rocky Ford rd & Crab Creek area today as was Patrick & Ruth Sullivan and Bart Welton. It is defending territory and was seen chasing warbling vireo and willow flycatcher aggressively. The bird called alot and moved from tree top to tree top around the thicket it defends. The bird is mostly seen at the highest point of the tallest trees in the ticket and I have yet to see it leave this thicket. But, it did today when Patrick played a Alder song from tape from across the creek and the bird flew to him. It did not respond like that when he played a willow song. We were able to get a recording of it calling thanks to Patrick's perseverance. It is not professional quality but you definitely here it's call. The bird has not sang the song that Scott Downs, Teri Pieper and I had the last time I visited. In fact that is the only day I have seen this bird sing it's song like that.

Patrick said that this was not the bird they had seen earlier by the bridge.

We also had a three vireo day; warbling, Cassin's and red-eyed. We had one white-throated swift and gray catbird and the usual birds.
