Brad and Tweeters,

The ABA Recording Standards and Ethics Committee (formerly Listing
Rules Committee) does not rule on the countability of individual
populations of introduced birds in North America. If there is one
introduced population that is considered to be established, then the
species is admitted to the ABA Checklist. For example, Eurasian
Collared-Dove and Yellow-chevroned Parakeet were presumably admitted
to the Checklist based on populations in the southeastern U.S.

You will have to decide on your own, based on what you can find out
about the status of the parrots and dove in California, whether you
should count it on your ABA list. As for the manikin and bishop, I do
not believe they have been admitted to the ABA Checklist yet.

I have no official connection with ABA (other than being a member),
but I am just explaining their policies as I understand them. I am

the Recording Standards and Ethics Committee, and might have some
