Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday June 20. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls at

On June 12 a male INDIGO BUNTING was at Takilma in Josephine County. A
GREAT-TAILED GRACKLE was seen June 16 at Antelope Reservoir west of Jordan
Valley. The Jordan Valley COMMON GRACKLE continues to be seen.

ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAKS were reported during the week from the High Desert
Museum south of Bend, in Bend, and at Dallas west of Salem.

Three BLACK SWIFTS were south of Newport June 15. A LONG-TAILED DUCK was on
the ocean off Boiler Bay June 14.

On June 14 three FORSTER'S TERNS arrived at the Fernhill Wetlands in forest
Grove. This was the day after three were seen along Livermore Road north of
Baskett Slough NWR. At Baskett Slough NWR during the week were a SNOWY
EGRET, a CLARK'S GREBE, a LESSER YELLOWLEGS, a LONG-BILLED CURLEW, a
BLACK-CROWNED NIGHT-HERON, and GRASSHOPPER SPARROWS at Morgan Lake, along
Livermore Road, and at the Fermer Road Marsh.

On June 14 a female BROAD-TAILED HUMMINGBIRD was along Indian Ford Creek
north of Sisters. A BLACK PHOEBE was at Shevlin Park in Bend June 13. South
of Bend on June 16 several GRAY-CROWNED ROSY-FINCHES were at the canoe
launch site at Sparks Lake. Both THREE-TOED and BLACK-BACKED WOODPECKERS are
still at the Elk Lake Burn south of Sparks Lake.

A singing LEAST FLYCATCHER is now at Clyde Holliday State park near Mt.
Vernon. A pair of PINE GROSBEAKS were seen during the week along the Elkhorn
Crest Trail, and another pair were along Van Patton Trail, both in the
Anthony Lake area northwest of Baker.
