Mike Denny has had Great Gray Owls in the Blue Mountains in the summer but
I'm not sure if he has documented breeding (but he may have). I'm not sure
if this was in OR or WA or both. Also Great Grays have been seen on the
Oregon side of the Blue Mountains recently (I think by Trent Bray). They
have also been in Field's Spring State Park and they do nest for sure on
Craig Mountain on the ID side of the Snake R./Hell's Canyon. The eastern end
of the Blue Mountains see very few birders so it is entirely possible that
they are there.

Charles.

Is this the first (recent) documented evidence of confirmed breeding by GG
Owls in the Washington Blues?
