Subject: Anyone monitoring GB Heron colony in NW Seattle?

Tonight I dropped by the great blue heron colony in NW Seattle (in the North
Beach Natural Area off 28th NW, on the western dead-end of NW 92nd). I
didn't expect to be able to see the 14 or so nests that I observed before the
dense foliage came out, but I did expect to hear the young herons chattering
(loudly) for food.

Instead I heard the rasp of the adults that we heard at the Kiwanis Ravine
heron colony when an eagle was in their midst.

A North Beach neighbor said the herons havebeen extremely noisy the last few
days.
A few years ago a UW student was monitoring this colony. Is anyone currently
monitoring this colony? Any knowledge of eagle activity and heron survival
rate here this year?

This is one of only two active heron colonies in the city limits of Seattle
(that I know of), with Kiwanis being the other.
