Inlanders and Tweeters,

Here are a few birds that have been sighted in Pend Oreille County over the last week.

Bohemian Waxwing - One bird sighted on the reservation. Isn't this an odd time of the year to see this species?

Marbled Godwit - Two birds on a mudflat in the reservation. Unfortunately, the birds only remained for a couple of minutes and then flew south towards Calispell Lake. There were also Greater and Lesser Yellowlegs present. I guess fall migration has already begun.

Clay-colored Sparrow - The bird reported earlier is still singing on territory. It is probably breeding, although I haven't been able to locate a nest.

Least Flycatcher - There are at least two areas on the reservation where these birds are breeding. One of the locations was described last week in my email.

Black-necked Stilt - Six pairs are still persisting on the reservation in a marshy area. I haven't observed any young yet.
