Spent about 3 hous biriding "the Point" this morning under
partly cloudy skies with no wind. After the gusty winds of yesterday, this
morning was a pleasant change. Walking out along the beach and around the
lighthouse we had an active morning enjoying the following birds:
3 Bullock's Orioles (2 males and 1 female)
7 Cedar Waxwings
18 Bushtits
2 Western Tanagers
14 Marbled Murrelets
8 Rhinocerous Auklets
2 Heermann's Gulls
8 American Goldfinches
2 Belted Kingfishers
1 Northern Flicker
5 White-crowned Sparrows (lots of young white-crowns around)
1 Sharp-shinned Hawk
Numerous Starlings with young
18 Red-winged Blackbirds
2 Black-capped Chickadees
Numerous Barn, Violet-green and Northen Rough-winged
Swallows
1 Osprey (male from the Foulweather Bluff nest, I believe)
2 Adult Bald Eagles
12 Pigeon Guillemots
