At McNary National Wildlife Refuge on February 15, Dennis Johnson observed
8 TUNDRA SWAN and 4 GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GEESE.

On February 16, Wayne Heinz and Lucie Fritz were visited by the wandering
WHITE-BREASTED NUTHATCH that has been visiting areas of North Richland this
winter. They live near Leslie Groves Park.

Also on February 16, Phil Bullard found a NORTHERN MOCKINGBIRD at the Big
Flat Habitat Management Unit in Franklin county. It was 1 to 2 miles into
the area at the time of observation.

Chris Simonen may have had the last COMMON REDPOLL in the area at her
Richland feeder on February 21.

The WESTERN SCREECH-OWL in Margaret Greger's Richland neighborhood is still
calling. It was heard on February 22 at the corner of Symons and Marshall.

An unusual HYBRID SPARROW is at a feeder on private property in Kennewick.
Its apparent parentage is WHITE-CROWNED X HARRIS'S. To make arrangements
to see this find, please leave a message after the tone at the end of this
summary (or reply by email).

On March 3, Dana Ward observed a GOLDEN EAGLE at Desert Aire, 2 COMMON
LOONS at Schwana, a male MOUNTAIN BLUEBIRD near Vantage, and several BALD
EAGLES on the trip home from Yakima.

Swallows have returned to the area. Yesterday, March 4, Ruth Fischer
reported VIOLET-GREEN and TREE SWALLOWS over the Yakima River near Chamna
Park.

To report your own sightings, please give your name, phone number and
sightings after the tone. Thank you.
